Forwarding the light.

“Kindness is a language which the deaf can hear and the blind can see.” -Mark Twain +++ Volunteers were forwarding/sharing the lights with passersby and/or strangers – seen @ Union Square station in New York. It’s December already – good time of year to think about “pay it forward”…Spread kindness!     P.S. I may have shared this image here or somewhere before, but this is one of my favourites so why not? ;) ©Mariko Evans

Look at the Sea.

“Look at that sea, girls…all silver and shadow and vision of things not seen. We couldn’t enjoy its loveliness any more if we had millions of dollars and ropes of diamonds.” -L.M. Montgomery +++ ©Mariko Evans

Misty morning rain

“I have often thought that we do not have nearly enough words for rain, especially as this was once a rainforest. There is booming rain, whispery rain, rain that lulls you to sleep, and rain on the leaves which sings you awake; there is soft rain, hard rain, sideways rain, rain that makes you instantly wet, and rain that leaves soft kisses on your cheek, like the wings of a butterfly. Rain brings us all the shades of gray, but it also brings us the wonderful greenery that surrounds us and blesses us all.” – Regan D’Andrade +++ ©Mariko Evans …

Misty Sunset

It was sunsets that taught me that beauty sometimes only lasts for a couple of moments.  – a.j. lawless. +++ ©Mariko Evans

7:04 am.

I was going to post a different photograph today but had to change as I saw this burning sky when I woke up. I was lazy…didn’t go anywhere but shot from our window this morning at 7:04 am – not a bad way to start a new day. +++ ©Mariko Evans

Between two skies.

One evening, after the Sun set  – we’re wandering around Spanish Banks, and found the sky on the beach – a beautiful reflection. Van city was between two skies… +++  ©Mariko Evans

Some Autumn Colours.

Just wanted to share some beautiful Autumn Colours I captured in my neighbourhood – just before it’s gone… I hope you all have a lovely weekend. :) +++ ©Mariko Evans

What could be better than hanging out with grandpa?

“A grandfather is someone with silver in his hair and gold in his heart.” – unknown +++ A little boy and his Grandpa, feeding Canada geese/ ducks at Jericho park. The old gentleman was telling a boy how to feed birds, how to reach them without scaring them, and then watching them in distance with binoculars. So cute… I don’t know if you remember this post, I love capturing seniors and children interacting with each other. It melts me. And of course, candid shots are the best…(if you have experienced photo sessions with me, you know it right? I barely ask …

A beautiful fall.

Autumn shows how beautiful it is to let go – unknown +++ I know, I have been sharing similar images (a leave dangling/falling in the air) almost every year but I just love them, can’t help. ;) Happy weekend, everyone. +++ ©Mariko Evans
