A mundane morning

Hello 2017!

Happy (belated) New Year Everyone! I hope all had a lovely festive time. I wanted to start the first post of the year with something joyful… So I picked this one – a lady, dancing to the Cuban music with a big smile in the street of old Havana. Love her genuine smile. It’s beautiful that how the music and dance can make us happy and our life richer.  :) +++ ©Mariko Evans

I’ll be there for 3 weeks and I’ll update this site/facebook when I can – or I may not. : ) P.P.S. Vancouver, I’ll miss you so much! +++ A girl was seen @ KAWAGOE FESTIVAL in 2015. ©Mariko Evans

Jericho park / beach – my new favourite location for portrait session!

Hi to all. I don’t usually share my works with my clients here – but today, for a change (and for a reason!), I’d like to share some images from a family portrait session I had with a lovely family last week. (with their permission). Why do I do this? Well. As some of you may know, I’ve moved from my much loved South Granville area (Oh yes, I still miss my dairy grocery store -Meinhardt where I enjoyed Black forest cake, and Almond croissant!) to West Point Grey area where I am 5 min drive away from Jericho beach/park. …

Get ready.

This shot was taken just before our family photo shooting. Put sunscreen on her cheeks, get ready for fun shooting session. : ) ©Mariko Evans

A child’s eyes.

A child’s eyes, those clear wells of undefiled thought; what on earth can be more beautiful? Full of hope, love, and curiosity, they meet your own. In prayer, how earnest; in joy, how sparkling; in sympathy, how tender… – Caroline E. Norton +++ ©Mariko Evans
